I take my continuing professional education very seriously. On a regular basis, I expand my portfolio with further instructor authentications. Since January 2014, I am TRI for AS355. This way, I can conduct typerating trainings and IFR trainings on AS355.

In Juli 2013, I expanded my instructor license for AW109 and A109 from SPH to MPH. I am now Type Rating Examiner (H) acc. Part- FCL.1005.TRE b) which authorizes me to competency assessments for TRI-/SFI-qualifications and ATPL-examinations.

Additionally, I received the new European EASA-license in July: ATPL(H) iR.

Nomination as TRE(H) for Agusta 109

The German Federal Aviation Office (Luftfahrtbundesamt) appointed Jan Veen on August 22, 2012 as TRE(H) for the model Agusta A109. As TRE – Type Rating Examiner – Jan Veen is entitled to assess annual check flights, OPC check flights and typerating check flights on A109 helicopters. Jan Veen is already appointed TRE for the helicopter models Robinson R22, R44, Eurocopter EC120 and Guimbal Cabri G2.

Recognition as Examiner (H) SEN

In April 2012, the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (LBA) included Jan Veen as (H) SEN in the list of examiners with special recognition. He is one of few flight instructors who may issue certificates for an extension of the LBA examiner-recognition.
If an examiner wants to extend his recognition, he must pass a practical examination or competence test. This test is supervised by a (H) SEN – an examiner, who was recognized for this purpose especially.

This special award is issued by the LBA for only a period of 3 years.
